Mourning Traditions for Al-Husayn

Imam Muhammad Ibn Abdul-Wahhab Al-Hanbali :

Among the reprehensible acts of the Rafida [Shia] is that they take the day of al-Husayn’s death as a day of mourning; they abandon adornment, display grief, and gather professional wailers to weep. They create representations of the tomb of al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him), decorating them and carrying them through the streets while crying out, ‘O Husayn!’ They commit excessive, forbidden acts in this regard, all of which are innovation (bid’ah).

من قبائح الرافضة أنهم يتخذون يوم موت الحسين مأتماً فيتركون الزينة ويظهرون الحزن ويجمعون النوائح يبكين ويصورون صورة قبور الحسين رضي الله عنه ويزينونها ويطوفون بها في السكك ويقولن : يا حسين ، ويسرفون في ذلك إسرافاً محرماً وكل ذلك بدعة .
